Brisbane
$15 adult, $12
concession, $25 family (2 adults + 3 children)
Parking opposite St Andrew's Uniting Church at 300 Ann Street for
$5.
We take every opportunity we can to
perform with young singers, and for this concert we are
looking forward to sharing the stage with two select ensembles from
schools in Brisbane. We
believe that it is important to provide such opportunities, so that
young performers can see and
hear for themselves what it is like to perform with an adult choir.
We hope that some of the
participants will look forward to joining us in the future, but more
than that we hope that all of them
will keep singing for life.
Anthony Young has been involved in getting a huge number of boys
involved in choral music at
St Laurence's College. Tim Sherlock is head of culture at All Hallows'
School.
The Big Brotherhood from St Laurence's
College, conducted by Anthony Young, will present
selections from:
Inscription of Hope (Stroope),How Can I Keep From Singing (Ellingboe),
Let it be Me (The Everly Brothers),
Praise His Holy Name (Hampton) and Thou Shalt (The Idea of North).
The Sr Mary Celine Chorale from All
Hallows' School conducted by Tim Sherlock will perform:
These Are The Days (Bojesen,Emily Dickinson), Tota Pulchra Es from
Quatre Motets (Duruflé),
Autobiography (Sherlock, Ian MacNeice)
Brisbane Concert Choir conducted by
Debra Shearer-Dirié will present:
Hanacpachap (from Peru), Finlandia (Sibelius), Cantate Domino (Pitoni),
Hail Gladdening Light (Wood),
Candor est lucis (Dirie), I got a Robe (Hogan), A Choral Menagerie
(Maurer) and Ave Maria (Biebl).
All three choirs will join together to present the final mystery work on the
program.
The concert will run for approximately 100 minutes with
an interval.
Afternoon tea will be served following the performance. All tickets

We regularly enjoy working with local youth and children's choirs,
and look forward to presenting
a joint concert with this international touring group. A boys' choir
trained in the same style as the
famous Vienna Boys' Choir, they perform a large and varied range of
works, both sacred and
secular. If you enjoy the sound of treble voices, don't miss this
opportunity.

They trust that on leaving you will be sufficiently enthused and
impressed
by their performance that you will donate generously to help offset
their travel costs. They will also have
